The email error you reported is a problem with resolving the email account.  It looks like you're using a relay, so make sure you configured the relay properly.  EHCP Force does not automatically configure relays for you, and not being able to resolve gmail may be a network error.

As for the Postfix warning messages you posted at PasteBin, these warnings are normal and can be ignored.  They will not impact functionality.

Well i dont wish to use any relay at all in postfix so i commented out #relayhost= line in main.cf

smtpd_relay_restrictions = permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated defer_un$
myhostname = lorentedford.com
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases
alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
mydestination = localhost, myip
#relayhost =

Did commenting that line out fix your issue?

See if this works from a terminal?

Code: [Select]
mail -s "subject here" email@address.com <<< "message"

Obviously, change the subject, email address, and message first.

Then, see if you get it.  If you don't, check the mail log and system log to see what it says as to why it failed.  Is your VPS provider blocking the SMTP ports?

Did you make any additional changes to your Postfix configuration besides commenting out that relay line?

Could you please PM me with SSH info so I can take a look?

No i did not make any changes to the postfix file other than commenting out that particular line and adding my correct ip address in the one area because it was trying to pull some private network ip from linode thats not used for web or data traffic.

I diffed your configuration files to mine.  I didn't see any differences that would cause it to not work.

You have EHCP installed in /var/www/new/ehcp, right?

Mail log still not giving you any helpful information?  Have you contacted linode?  The problem could be on their end.... possibly, but I doubt it... unless they are super strict with email.  Perhaps try running the EHCP Force update script in case something didn't happen or finish during the initial install?  The update certainly wouldn't hurt anything.  It's worth a try even if there are no updates, as it attempts to fix issues with your environment along the way if it detects any.

I will attempt to try using the update Originally i was using postfix for recieve and dovecot for sending mail in my original Debian server I formated and started over and by default really didnt play with anything much I really didnt want to mess up any default scripts that sort of thing.. My emails worked well for the last 3 years of hosting just wanted a fresh clean slate with me working on so many open source projects and hosting new websites for each project etc.. Figured it would be easier to have a control pannel this time..

No, that should work as well.  What version of Ubuntu are you running on the server?  I can deploy a VM running the same version using my servers and see if I run into the same issues.
